It's the most wonderful time of the year! If it's the first Thursday in December, it must be Wassailing - Richland's annual open house! Once again, kids of all ages enjoyed a night of food, fun and entertainment. If you felt like something hot to eat, Gull Lake Graphics was serving chili and fixings and Prudential Preferred Realtors was serving up soup. The Personal Care Center was hosting a Chili cook-off; proceeds will be given to the 2010 Richland Area Relay for Life. Folks who stopped by Natural Solutions/ Gull Lake Chiropractic enjoyed their annual Health Fair Extravaganza featuring gluten - free foods and demonstrations... Who needs to cook dinner when it's Wassailing?
This year's entertainment included the annual visit from the Kalamazoo Barber Shop Chorus hosted by the Little Yellow Frame Shop and Gallery and the Cat in the Hat stopped by at Kare's Village Diner. The owner of the Personal Care Center, Barb Beardsley said the highlight of their evening was the Gull Lake High School Chorus led by David Woolf. They were very professional and entertaining... Popular caricature artist, Gene Haulenbeek returned again; he's always a highlight.. Over 200 people came to the Richland Community Library to enjoy the dancers from Daisies Dance Studio and listen to the Gull Lake High School Band perform holiday songs led by director Floy Latham. The young kids sitting around enjoying the band were given bells to ring and tambourines to play during the songs....the kids loved it! And always a huge hit: Reindeer in the park! Our thanks to the Village Police who make the arrangements for this annual event! Wassailing 2010 is Thursday December 2nd. Mark your calendars and see you then! |
